Sorry for the late report I have been ensconsed in powder and other happenings.
Well, I never thought I would be getting face shots in the east, but there were drifts well over 5-6ft high. It was a stellar day to say the least. The snow did not cover all rocks in the back country, but it covered the majority of them. This was really the first real snow, and there was little to no base. However, there was tons of fresh snow to cover most objects. The main trails were awesome, with plenty of cat tracks into the woods. I went over to parts of the old crotched and found skiable terrain with rock skis. I took quite the tumble in the woods. And did a really dumb thing. I was skiing with out a helmet because i broke it. In the woods I hit a downed tree and it ripped my skis off. (didnt know it was down there, just looked like normal terrain) as it ripped my skis off i was getting ready to go off a 10ft cliff band, i ended up tumbling down the cliffs and into the tree/shrubs/snow below. Messed up my thumb broke/sprained who knows, and badly bruised my leg. I was really lucky that I didnt hit my head cause it could have been really bad. But besides that the day was really fun. I'm definitely not to hurt to ski thats for sure. There was some really good snow!
thats all for now
