I know no one really reads the Western forum so I'll post it here:

Since it's not dumping in the east (far from it), we can still all get excited about a big storm somewhere. Here are a few areas and their expected snowfall:
Lake Tahoe ski areas- 10 to 15 inches of snow by Tuesday morning.
Northern Rockies from Big Sky to Big Mtn- 6 to 12 inches with isolated amounts to 24 inches on higher elevation west facing slopes.
Utah's Wasatch- Look out. 12-24 inches by the time all is said and done. This is on top of the 15-20 inches that is on the ground at the higher elevations of the Cottonwood Canyons.
Colorado Rockies- Northern portion of the state towards the Steamboat Springs region will continue to get hit with another 6-12 inches of new snowfall by Tuesday morning above 8,000 feet. Southern part of the state will see 5-10 by tuesday morning above 9,000 feet.

That's all for now folks.

-Scott

nice. i just took a hike to check the snow depth out and it's already over 2' in the drifts. unstable in area's too. about 12" on average i guess. that 24"(?) will help things out a lot up there since it's in the higher elevation range. the trek kicks my ass though. i'm beat. thanks for the info. looks like i'll be making some turns next weekend.

Hmmmmmmmm neige !!!!!!!!!!
(snow)

Thanks for the update Scott !!

I think I will check a lot the webcams in the next days !

Using the "New Messages" menu option at left, however, will allow anyone to see any time anything is posted in any of the sections. There's also no better way to jump-start the western section, as has been done recently in the eastern section, than to begin placing relevant posts there.

That said, my suggestion would be to go ahead and place it in the proper forum regardless.

I'll drop an updated forecast over there in the western section. I should've thought about trying to stir up some action over in the western forum...duh!

-Scott
