Not sure if it's appropriate for this forum, so feel free to remove.

But I saw an ad in Eye magazine for free tickets to see the film Higher Grounds when you purchase lift tickets from Moonstone (mount st. louis, Barrie Ontario) and Tremblant (Quebec).

Or you can buy tickets at Ticketmaster or Sporting Life stores.

For information about the film you can go to skitheworld.com

Not inappropriate at all, but wow...that's kind of backwards from the way they always do it. Generally, with a movie admission, once inside you're given a magazine with a card in it to redeem online for the lift ticket voucher. Our free lift ticket for the shows here in SLC was to The Canyons. Last year in Schenectady, the show admission actually included free lift tickets to a couple of different resorts.

Just to double check, I consulted http://www.skitheworld.com/ . They report:

Sure enough, it seems to work in the usual manner at the Canadian shows, but up there it's 2-for-1 tickets instead of the usual, a plain freebie ticket without the requirement to purchase one. Montrealers just get a 2-for-1 to Tremblant. For the Ottawa show, it's Camp Fortune/Mont Ste-Marie and Tremblant. Toronto is as you've said.

For example, for the Albany show, it's free (not 2-4-1) midweek tickets to Killington, Mt. Snow, and free tickets to Windham, Jiminy Peak, Whiteface and Hunter. Not "or", but "and" -- all of them:

Y'all Canucks are getting ripped!

In California they are at least as stingy as in Canada. Typical in past years was a Big Bear ticket good through something like Dec. 16.

Last year and this year the free ticket is to Heavenly, but good only through Jan. 13 and with holiday exclusions.

I'll let you know Sunday if it was worth it eh?
Hoser...

Thanks Hoser, I didn't if that 2 2 for 1 was still in for Ottawa (last time I went to WM was in 2001). I'm considering it 'cause I can have a ticketmaster discount ($16 instead of $20). Ah, the advantages of buying concert tickets online with ticketmaster.

Good day Eh!!!

Don't tell anyone ok? I know where you hide your back-bacon.

<rant> ....althought I supppose TicketMaster is the one with the big pile of back-bacon given they are charging a $4.25 convenience charge per ticket. I'm gonna release a bunch of moths during the movie in protest, eh..</rant>

Ok, Good Day eh...

Only the diehards fans will know what your talking about. Nice... :D

Back to the subject. So $16 + convience charge versus a 2 for 1 for Tremblant + another for Fortune/Ste.Marie.

Still debating if it worth it sitting to watch the infomercial, I might actually do what Bob, oops Jonny is suggesting and also bring a jar full of moths. :D

I just saw higher ground today (in high def I might add...) at the local dc ski expo. Awesome movie - and I got a free lift ticket voucher for watching, plus I got another lift ticket voucher just for going to the expo and a free subscription to ski magazine. I also scored a $20 gift card to a local ski shop. And lastly - I got a free snowblast card to liberty/whitetail/roundtop - not sure if this will get me anything but ehh can't hurt. Total cost of admission to ski expo (all of this): $10. So I guess I didn't do too bad...
