salem, ma got about one foot and shut work down for the afternoon. i figured since some of the deepest powder in new england excluding the cape was right in my back yard, i had to capitolize. parking at gallows hill park around the corner from my house (coincidently where we had to stow my g/f's car during the parking ban), i ascended gallows hill for 60-70 vertical feet of untracked fresh powder! i got about a dozen turns in each run and took two runs down. unfortunately the pitch wasn't as steep as i thought it might be and the powder was deep, so it was hard getting some momentum going. by the time i gathered up some steam and was turning well, the run was over. it was just enough to tame the powder hunger before heading up to crotched to investigate their blessings. rock skis were not needed! woods were to thick to try.

how about a foot of fresh in the mountains next time old man winter! K? thx!!!

'A' for effort!!

You get credit for giving it a go, even with marginal terrain, you did get some powder turns.

Now, something must be done about getting snow in the mountains, where it belongs.

Amen to that!!
Here in St. Johnsbury there is only 2-3 inches of superfluf on the ground. We have had flurries the past two days but it hasn't been adding up to much. I never thought I would live to see the day when the heart of the NEK has the least snow of anywhere on the entire east coast! This weather pattern is really starting to rub me the wrong way.
