Hi,
I will not profess to be as good at forcasting storms as some of those on this list. In my line of work I do have to often perform historical analysis of storm events and so I wanted to share some of the various links related to snow that many may find kinda cool.

Whose got the biggest?
record events: http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/ussc/pagemap.html

by the way for the period of record Cannon reigns supreme (don't get a complex Jay Peakers I drive right past Cannon on my way to Jay on a regular basis Jay puts out the goods on a regular basis.

Will it hit us?

Its all about timing
forcasted snowfall intensity (for those of us mere mortals who do not have an meteorology textbook nearby to interpret the alphabet soup of acronmyns provided by experts) for 6 hour periods: http://www.weather.gov/forecasts/graphi ... sLoop.phpt

to get the full effect of these maps click on snow amount in the first pull down then go to the second pull down menu and highlight the time period by scrolling through the sequence of 6 hour periods one can determine when to time a visit or by looking at wind direction and velocity even what part of the mountain to ski given previaling wind direction and aspect.
