Gore 1/11

Quick report today: Conditions were excellent all over. Gore has been
making more snow than I have ever seen them make and it shows. All the
lower mountain cruisers were soft and carvable. Showcase and Quicksilver
had some very interesting terrain features as they have not been groomed
since the intensive snowmaking...there are some huge wales in spots.

The upper mountain terrain was good as well. Chatimac and Hawkeye were
both groomed, so no bumps, but the snow surface was good. Lies had a
snowmaking problem on the headwall that resulted in a sheet (more like a
block) of ice...after the headwall it was alright. There was a slot on
the right that was nice early on but got skied off quickly. Open Pit was
also good.

Temps were cold, but warmed up into the +5 to +10 degree range with no
wind at the base and a little breeze on top of the gondi. Not too bad
after Friday's -20 on top of the gondi. Skies were overcast with light
snow falling all day only resulting in a dusting on the cars by days end.

I'll be up there tomorrow if anyone's in the area and wants to make some
turns...

-Scott
