I've spoken with Acid Christ a number of times today. he is at Gore and he is reporting decent conditions. Snow is a bit manky, but soft and skiable. They opened the glades and they've been tracked out pretty well already. I sent AC into Red Dog and Top Secret and he was mightily impressed with the "single track" type skiing in these young glades.
He has not spent much time at Gore previously and is very impressed with the quality of the trails. He particularly likes the more classic narrow, twisty, turny trails, like those on the north side.
Rumor has the best powder and was left ungroomed.
He left Ithaca at 5am and will be rolling in around 8pm or so. He'll be one tired pup. It is indeed possible to do Gore as a day trip from Ithaca...it's just a very long day.
If it dumps on sat/sun as they are expecting Gore will have prime coverage throughout the week...go earn some turns. We'll see if they run the lifts the weekend of the 21st.
