What I thought would be soft hero snow was not.

As I rode chair 1 I noticed a shine on Iliad. Then, the noise. What was that loud noise? yeesh! It sounded like a snowplow on the interstate, but it was just a couple of skiers and a snowboarder.

It was the worst conditons of the season. Edges were pretty much useless, as was the tele-turn. Lotta skittering p-turns. I took 3 runs on green trails and I was scared. It was miserable, but I had people to laugh about it with, so it was not a total waste of time. No one stayed longer than 4 runs.

Most Uninspiring.

I am fearful for what the MLK weekend will be in the northeast.

The infamous January thaw that appears to happen every year is upon us . Rain and freezing rain is also falling across all Quebec ski regions so it looks like the the entire North East is being soaked and thats a big region North to South . Was out walking in a January downpour tonight !! The big freeze is due to arrive Saturday night as temperatures are forecasted to drop quickly. Were looking at the potential of bulletproof condtions until the next snow.

I was suppose to have a Masters race tonight. It got cancelled because of rain. The funny part is that it happened for the same race last year, but hasn't cancelled until I had already left raining.

Conditions are great when it raining, everything is soft. However that isn't doing to last, freezing temps will be back by the weekend in these parts. :?

This said, conditions were AMAZING for Camp Fortune (outside Ottawa) yesterday morning.
