How's the mini warm-up affecting VT/NH?

many of us are hoping for a return to winter. not much snow up north (perhaps jay/smuggs/stowe still have some base???) as of yet. warm temps and rain= poor conditions going into x-mas week.

at first, it was agreed that NE skiing was gonna be crap through new years, but things may be changing in the next week or so- right before x-mas.

it's gonna be interesting and a nail-biter for those of us with ski plans...

Not sure "mini" is the right word. We are looking at record highs over the next few days. Looks like the next chance for a turn is around 12/23. Hoping Scott will surprise us with some optimism.

Well, i calld my parents to know what was up at Jay this week...

Apparently, the snow is melting quickly... You can't connect from Tramside to Stateside anymore... Natural snow trails are closing quickly... The Jet and Haynes are improving day after day however...

Now, we need snow bad... I'm not going down to Jay this w-e... I'll ride my bike in Montreal area... I never did mountain bike on dirt this late in the year... scary!

Now everyone needs to pray to Ullr every night before going to bed... I don't care which Freakin' religion you pray to... I don't care if a Xmas tree is called a religious symbol... But whichever god you pray to is obsolete now... PRAY FOR SNOW!

How is the snow :!: What snow , it might as well be October . Hey, but one good thing we won't have to worry about is the January thaw melting all the powder. It's been said before but starting to look like the 1994/95 season and that was a bad one.

no natural base to speak of at jay, only man made base on man made trails. the woods look snowy from the last storm as of this past sunday, but it is just eye candy.
