I expected very little of the conditions yesterday after the rain and warmth on Saturday. Cover was excellent, and everything was groomed.
However, there was little in the way of soft snow and everything was hardpack and edgeable ice.

Mountain was very crowded with instructor training course groups, racers, and the general public. 75% of the crowd just couldn't handle the conditions, but everyone is jonesing for a few runs and few people quit early, so the slopes were crowded until 3:00pm or so.

Basically the same 2 runs down from the top (HBK and Belt) with some beginner terrain too. Snowmaking in progress on Minya Konka, Ike, Jimmy Heuga, Dropoff, and Wayout on the West Side. Ike looked poachable, but the water bars were treacherous and I passed.

Best part of the day was getting my Garmont Adrenalins dialed in and learning that they perform very well on hard, icy snow. That's something I've never experienced before with AT boots and the Adrenalins are performing for me as advertised.

Worst part of the day was getting taken out from behind by one of the many out of control guests while standing on the side of Kennedy talking to my son Peter. Thankful there was no bodily damage!

This coming weekend looks to be the first real weejend of the season and there will be much more terrain open :D !
