.....for early April re: coverage/exposure etc....Thanks. If not, what are the best spring skiing mountains in the east for early to mid-April?

Have been to Whiteface in March and had lots of snow. Conditions were outstanding with everything open. Can't speak for early April but have always enjoyed Whiteface whenever I've been there.

I've been there a few times in early to mid-April and conditions are generally great, however better check before leaving.

Generally the skiing is excellent in most major areas in the Northeast and Quebec during that time of year. The only issue are early closure (lifts, services and sometimes area) this late in the season due to lack of skiers, not snow.

How late do Mt.Ste.Anne, Stoneham and LeMassif stay open?

Ste.Anne and LEMAssif (probably Stoneham also) have a fixed closing dates, regardless of the amount of runs and snow. Ste.Anne would be the latest of the bunch to close. They generally close on the first weekend of May, however this year it will be April 30th.

It looks like LeMassif closes on April 2.

Better check, because at a certain time in late Spring, Ste. Anne only opens on weekend.

Here are a few late season reports on Ste. Anne and Le Massif from the archives:

April 24, 2005: Le Massif two weeks after closing.
