Just rolled in from J.Conditions were,um,let's just say a bad day on the hill is better than a good day at work.
Locals tell me conditions wednesday and thursday were some of the worst of the season. After the warm temps of sunday-tuesday+r@in+freezing temps=hardpack and ice.I watched three people in a row fall/slide down the top of the Jet.I also saw lots of people going down hard.Upper Powerline is toast with huge sections of exposed ledge running in bands.Lower Powline looked like nice bumps(when they thaw a bit).I'm still hopefull March will bring 50+" but if it doesnt,Jay wont last till Easter.Coverage is still good on most trails and the woods look great.Lets hope the connectors last.
I hit the Belfry for supper tuesday night(Jamaican jerk chicken w/mango salsa, salad, bread, peanut butter cup pie and several Blues. After supper I hit The Lodge looking for a pool game.I found one local who played me a couple games but after only getting up to the table a total of four times in two games he diddnt want to play after that.Wednesday night I went back to Da Lodge in hopes that they were having thier wednesday night pool tounament. No dice.Luckily I brought Lars from the Snowline with me and I beat him to the point where he wouldnt play anymore eighther.I'll hit the Snowshoe at the end of the month.Hopefully they have some shooters.I've heard the new owners are doing a good job.
((*
*))NHPH
