Yes, the masses would likely have skiied everything out Friday and Saturday, but with beautiful bluebird skies and relatively warm temps, it was worth a shot. Certainly not as busy as I had expected for a weekend.
Arrived to a light dusting of maybe 3" at the base. First tram and a run down the pumphouse was awesome if you ignored the steep chute at the top which was quite ugly and exposed. Pretty much all of the marked glades were skiied out, though there was still plenty of light fresh powder to be had the rest of the morning if you looked in the right places.
Don't know about the groomers, though from the lift, Goat and the main traverses looked quite glacial as usual by noon.
Finally, we witnessed an injured skiier being extracted from the small creek in Kokomo. Yikes. On a busy day, that narrow run is a total death trap what with all the unpredictable traffic and inexperience.
Here's hoping for a few more dumpings of snow like this.
