Yes, the masses would likely have skiied everything out Friday and Saturday, but with beautiful bluebird skies and relatively warm temps, it was worth a shot. Certainly not as busy as I had expected for a weekend.

Arrived to a light dusting of maybe 3" at the base. First tram and a run down the pumphouse was awesome if you ignored the steep chute at the top which was quite ugly and exposed. Pretty much all of the marked glades were skiied out, though there was still plenty of light fresh powder to be had the rest of the morning if you looked in the right places.

Don't know about the groomers, though from the lift, Goat and the main traverses looked quite glacial as usual by noon.

Finally, we witnessed an injured skiier being extracted from the small creek in Kokomo. Yikes. On a busy day, that narrow run is a total death trap what with all the unpredictable traffic and inexperience.

Here's hoping for a few more dumpings of snow like this. :D

Yes, it was skied out Saturday. I have never seen crowds like that before. We were timing the lift lines and 25 minutes was the norm sat. It was ridiculous. Sunday there were no lines. We got there 8:30 am Sat and had 20 minute wait to get lift tix. By the time we made it up the hill and into the glades I could not believe how tracked out they were.

I was at Jay on Sunday and Monday. The conditions were amazing but i couldn't believe how much traffic the place has seen over Friday and Saturday...

Every major glade was skied out and stumps and rocks were everywhere! But when you know where to look it helps. I rode in knee deep powder all day.

I got there at 8H30 and had the first tracks down the Upper Upper lift line and in Can-Am... It was not as deep as i thought it would be but better then anything this winter!

By lunch time i already had 12 runs all over the mountain. I did 8 more in the afternoon and by 3PM i was done. The powder freak in me was beaten up... It was definately the best day of the season for me... I got to bed at 8PM!

Today was weird... windy... And Jay Peak felt like cutting back on staff and by noon, only the Jet was running... The snow was wind blown and the pwder was getting thicker and thicker. IT was excellent on the groomer however!

IN all, it was an amazing weekend!

Hope it snow some more!

NOTE: It was snowing real hard when i left Jay at 6H30PM to get back in town... But now it's ***** and snowing at the same time here... hope to see only snow!

We overheard staff saying that saturday(the 12th) was the SECOND busiest day in JAY PEAKS history!!!
