Much of River's and NHPH's report of Friday.
Soft snow on saturaday, stumps and such starting to poke through. Found some untracked mashedpotatos kicking around, but nothing to excellent. OK coverage, i guess I'm used to lots of rocks so it seemed pretty decent.
Sunday was much better with a couple inches of snow overnight. Really heavy (almost sleet) at the bottom, and lighter as you went up. Skied the face four times, and each time found wind pack boot to knee deep that had yet to be tracked. Skied the tucks chutes twice, and dropped in above the freezer, which made a sketchy landing above the pseudo cliffs where the cat track to the flyer comes in, but the snow was deep over there. Third time was Green beret lower variation, pretty good, some good rocks to jump off. The fourth time we said "no guts no glory" hiked the staircase, and jumped off the ridge, higher than I thought it was, we aired out over a bunch of rocks and got dumped into some nice wind buff, felt real deep when we landed, but it was porbably only 12 or 18 inches. Good stuff for only 3 inches overnight. Sunday proved to be much better, but nothing epic. By and large a good weekend, but its the end of the end. Good thing im going to chile.
