"I'm melting...MELTING!!"

Hard to believe that 24" of new snow that we witnessed on Sunday consolidated into what we saw last night. Wowzers...some natural-only areas of the hill were exhibiting the telltale brownish tint in a few spots. Yesterday's warmth really consolidated the snowpack.

Never mind that, though, for the skiing was absolutely fantastic with true hero snow out there -- just set the ski on edge and lay into it for huge, carving arcs that were honest and dependable. Couple that with the fact that there was almost no one there, and you could really fly through GS turns top to bottom. Open terrain was pretty much what was open on Sunday: Left Bank, West Way, North Glade, Lower Glade, Fox's, Grand Slam, Slingshot, 360, 180, lower-Lower Exhibition, etc. The six-pack and the small novice chair next to it were running.

We figured to get out before this morning's r*&n and subsequent refreeze took its toll on the surfaces. It was a good decision. The 18" that fell Sunday on my yard has now melted down to no more than a few inches of wet sludge. Pawprints from the dog in the yard have melted straight through to the ground.

Keep yer fingers crossed for Sunday night's potential snowstorm!
