Instead of paying US$143-163 and skiing for free in Revelstoke, after skiing on Tues. I drove to Golden and paid $135 for 2 nights at a motel very close to downtown and walking distance to the Wolf's Den. The next morning I paid $113.50 for a Senior ticket that I hung from my pants on a wire. They warned with a sign and verbally before selling you the ticket that winds could close lifts and there would be no refunds. After riding busy gondola, I skied an early entry into Crystal Bowl that had good, packed powder and skied to and rode Stairway to Heaven that was running slow (and it and all other chairs there are not high-speed) I skied a steep groomed black probably My Blue Heaven. Snow was very good, but my hands were cold enough that I went into bathroom at the bottom and added warmers to my gloves. I then tried a run off the road above tower 9 that looked like it may have been powder but was not as smooth as it looked. Next time up I followed a local's advice and road along the ridgeline a long way before dropping into Feuz Bowl from Bareback, both of which had good packed powder.

My next two gondola rides I skied all its 3800' vertical. First ride I skied Bowl Over, then next time up I did a couple short skis on hike followed by a longer skis off hike to Super Bowl. Top of my hike and T2 peak.

The ropeline on left/T1 side of Super Bowl was not as restricted as my last time there so I was able to catch some tracked powder.

Next time up the gondola, after taking a couple of photos - top of Stairway chair just below peak at center and O-Zone that I skied last time behind and to right of it

I went along ridge and skied what I think was Dorchester following a couple. Snow was very good. I would have liked to have been more aggressive on the entry but there was a lot of exposure and I didn't want to see if I could stop what would have been a long slide. Looking back up what I skied (lookers left)

I rode Stairway chair and did the Stairway hike starting just after one with good visibility but very strong winds. I think this is the wind gauge at the top that day.

I was most likely the last person up there who was not patrol. I put on my skis using one of their toboggans as a windbreak to prevent any of my equipment from getting blown away. Snow was good on run I took into White Wall. It was either Last Chance or Two Trick Pony.

Feuz Bowl below White Wall was excellent with sun and smooth, blown-in snow. I noticed that part of Stairway chair I could see was empty and stopped. Lower down in Bowl got even better but I didn't stop for more photos.

Both the gondola and Stairway chair had gone on windhold. I rode and skied running a little slow Catamount chair twice with a break in between to see if there was anything to buy for my wife in shop. I finished my day with a lap on steeper double Pioneer chair that was running full speed.

I quit a little before 3 with 22.8K vertical. View of Mtn the next day when leaving motel. I'd heard that upper lifts had also closed on Monday then re-opened about 3.
