Luck of the draw has it, that I get my 1 weekday ride in on the snowiest day this week! 8) It was nice to have a little fresh snow after these last 2-3 weeks of nothing.
We arrived at about 9am and it was coming down at a good rate, and was definitely adding up. We took a few warm up laps off k-1 while we waited for our roommate.
We scooted over Heavenly traverse to drop into a great little stash! No one had been there yet.................. FIRST TRACKS
Even Double Dipper had some great untouched lines down it!!
Downdraft or Cascade had HUGE bumps on it, with nice 3inch pillows to sit in. After we found our roomate, we headed for Skyship and needles eye side. Next was Bittersweet and there was lots of the freshies blown up against the sides of the trail and it felt great! All the trails over there dont' seem to get skied off as fast, and the sides of the trail seem to always have lots of stuff to push around, well into the late afternoon. This was the run of the day. After a few good cruisers on SkyeLark and Bittersweet, we peeked into Somewhere and Nowhere but, decided it wasn't worth the possible base guages, as it just seems to need 1 more good storm to fill these in.
Finally we made our way to Rams head to check out the mini-park they built. It has some real mellow features, but you really have to keep your speed in order to clear all the hits. Fun run to get your flow going tho, and not break yourself up. And and nice 1/4 pipe at the end, which is new this year.
I'm off to Whistler for a week....
