Killington 1/23-1/24

I'd give Killington a (D+) over the weekend (with exceptions noted below). Still some good firm carving trails - but you really had to pay attention and be on your edges to carve hard. There was not a lot of loose snow.

Most bump runs were groomed flat cuz they were so firm.

Saturday, they bombarded wildfire (?I get the non-O.L. trails mixed up at bear). This is when you understand why you pay so much $$$ for lift tix. Fantastic bumps and huge mounds of grade AAA+ manmade, and huge kickers for me to wimpily avoid. I did that one trail all afternoon. I had to head home, but I heard that Sunday did the same for East Fall.

Anyway... there is an excellent base for the coming snow. It isn't all ice... just firm... so the fresh snow will cling to the base instead of just blowing off everywhere. A hearty 6" would be all we'd need to really sweeten things up.

Pray for the storm to track north!
