2 bluebird days. very, very pleasant temps. saturday might have been the biggest crowd of the year. did laps on supe waiting for ovation to open. supe had very nice fresh mm snow lower. the ssw were also in good shape. snowmaking in the woods ... who woulda thunk it. ovation was worth the wait and was creme. a couple of those also. dreammaker lived up to it's name. really sweet on the new manmade. bcw was well covered and had lots of fresh. upper wildfire had nice soft bumps on the treeline. fiddle had firm monster bumps, no good lines but was fun nonetheless. ol was pretty sweet on some newly blown snow. old upper needles was good on nat snow. vertigo good on the new mm snow but boring without bumps. main complaint for the day was lack of really good bump lines. hit steps and that a mixed bag of boot deep pow but lots of exposure on the steep, tight sections. escapade generally good with a scrapey spot or two. dipper woods surprisingly good but weedy. nat trail of the day was breakaway which we gave multiple hits. top section of roundabout a bit rocky and then got good. west glade unfortuneatley groomed. late in the day both north star & vagabond pretty much trashed. in addition to dreamaker, other snowmaking trail of the day was conclusion. even late in the day plenty of good mm snow. finished up with another ovation which developed widely spaced bumps and got a bit styrofoamy.

sunday started out warmer. hit many of the same runs and overall they just weren't as good. at least early, both dreamaker & fiddle had 'stiffened' up. same for the bumps on ovation, while the groomed seemed slicker. upper wildfire was now pretty trashed. bcw skied off but still good. thimble was pretty good but required some care to avoid the rockage. liked vertigo better as it was developing some bumps. the light was skied off but ok. they were blowing on downdraft and it was variable under the guns. some new good manmade covering some ice with poor visibility. it should be great tomorrow. run of the day again was conclusion. we heard that the somewhere/nowhere was probably in the best shape of the woods runs. also heard that bear, particularly the fiddle got nice & soft in the afternoon. all in all a very good weekend but we really need another shot of snow as the nats have been picked clean and the trees still need a lot more base to be skied with impunity.
