Popped up for a little midweek at Kton yesterday.

Snow quality represented a good recovery after last week's warmth. Skied open to close, with some icy patches developing by the end of the day, but plenty of piles of snow to play in and non-icy lines to ski if you looked for em. Nice firm hard pack under several inches of packed powder for some high speed turns. Wind was wicked at the summit, but really pretty sunset.

Really only one way down from top to bottom (K1) right now, but other trails with decent variety of terrian to detour to along the way.

Yes, we've had years with better early season, but despite limited terrain, snow was decent and fun to ski.

Think cold and snow and more cold.
