It's only natural to compare Killington's conditions yesterday to those at Okemo on Saturday.

(Killington first thing yesterday morning)

On one hand, the open terrain at Killington was much more interesting, from beautiful bumps on East Glade and Mousetrap to pleasant cruising on Bunny Buster and Chute.

(The bumps on Mousetrap...but look at the ant hill!)

On the other hand, however, it was sometimes difficult to enjoy that open terrain thanks to the truly obscene density of people at Killington. LA Sharon aptly called it "urban skiing". Ugh! When I hit the road at 1:30, cars were parked all the way down Killington Access Road to Snowshed. Had I been able to combine Killington's open terrain with Okemo's skier density from a day earlier, I'd have been truly loving life.

Guns were going everywhere it seemed, and on Bunny Buster, East Glade and Mousetrap they were constantly refreshing the surface. This made the moguls truly pleasant to enjoy. We actually found ourselves deliberately skiing under the guns much of the time.

(The guns running on Bunny Buster)

The snow surface at Killington was far more pleasant as well. Nowhere did we find a true skating rink like Okemo's Lower World Cup was a day earlier, nor did we find the mini death cookies, either. Instead, everything was eminently edgeable and held up surprisingly well to the traffic.

(At the bottom of the Snowdon Triple)
