i feel bad about the late report, but i was jammed at work...
we were there on wed thurs and fri
wed- bad.. it was ok for the first 2 runs but the sky opened up about 11 and we threw it in...it was really bad in terms of snow.. it was sludge and waterlogged
thurs.. we were so depressed on wed we thought about driving back home.. we got a room for 45 bucks and that convinced us to stay. thurs was in fog till 10 then it opened up.. glorious.. they had groomed it out at some point on wed( that also contributed to wed biting it...) , but by the end of the day on thurs , decent bumps were sprouting up...partly sunny and about 50 with a brisk wind...life was good
fri...epic,, full on bump run... not the best lines but bumps t to b...sunny and about 60 f with some wind
breakdown: wed was walk on walk off because of the top... the headwall is in death mode.. the walk off the lift to the snow by fri was about 75 feet... by the end of the day we were toast and were seriously thinking about saying goodbye... in fact i made the decision that it was it when pulling into the lift at about 345p, i came out of my right ski.. my binding had cracked in half... i figured it was divine intervention and the man upstairs was teling me " u must go now " ...so i said my goodbyes... talked to my man g today about 2pm and told him i saw the 5 dayer forecast... looks like bluebird...needless to say, c u all from k on wed and thurs coming up.. that will be the wrap though for sure as we anticipate the headwall being half gone... there is plenty of snow in the middle line of the middle section after the bottom of the headwall.. there is a nasty rock in the middle of the bottom of the headwall that seems to attract skis like a magnet... the line is shrinking in the middle but coverage is ok till u get to the end of the middle section just before the bottom headwall starts... it gets real sparse and large rocks get exposed with hard turns.. plenty of snow in the bottom quarter leading to the lift.. bittersweet/skylark has to be DOA, as of this report...i am stoked because up until 6 hours or so ago i thought i was done...i'll get the thursday update up asap.
