Ok, you'll say that I'm crazy with 3 ski reports in a row... but I effectively skied 3 mountains in 24 hours.

After Tremblant, saturday afternoon, we tried the new road between Tremblant North and St-Donat. It's a fabulous road, a little bit looking like the roads of Charlevoix, passing close to 2000 feet of elevation.

And we reached La Réserve around 8h PM, before the sun disappeared.

We were supposed to just to 1-2 runs down the Loup-Garou canyon, especially as it's almost gone now, but the snow was soooooooo nice that we ended by doing 4 runs (before the sun completely disappeared)

It was some nice corn, some of the best snow I skied this spring !

There was 150' high skiable, on about 600 feet long. Here is how it looked like...

I think there was more snow last year on june 1, but at least, there was still a connection possible in the middle of the patch (where you see it's thin). I also think that there was more snow in 2002, when I walked there on may 25 (when I learned that there was some snow soooo late in this canyon)

Here is Christophe on the upper part of the trail

And a pic of Chris and the menu right behind him

And finally, like always, a little video of our last run, done by Marie.

Skiing on may 22 at La Réserve on nice corn snow !

I'll post this here because its the last of the three posts. But you truely do have a love for this sport that goes above and beyond most people. I give you credit for being able to ski as much as you do. AWESOME

Thanks Porter !

In fact, I just found another guy as crazy as me, this year, so it's even easier to have the motivation to go.

And I think that next year, we would almost be able to rent a bus and fill it of skiers every weekend until there is simply no snow on the ground !!!

It looks like there is more and more persons here that are willing to hike for turns after the chairlift's season is over !

I think it is not so much that people are not crazy enough to go skiing late season, its more the time restraints. I know for myself with lacrosse in the spring I hardly ever had a weekend day open that I could go skiing. It is really ashame. Hopefully next year with the start of college I will be able to do more spring skiing.

porter

I hope so !

Hiking for turns is a wonderful sport ! Everyone who try it agrees, it's a totally different sport and almost all the persons that I know who tried it loved it !

It's sad to compare this report with the one of last year on may 22...

http://www.firsttracksonline.com/discus2/messages/2508/2402.jpg

http://www.firsttracksonline.com/discus2/messages/2508/2403.jpg

It was still so beautiful and nice last year. This year really ended too fast...

At least, I have the video of my last run of the season in the Loup-Garou

Whoops, forgot to link the whole report...

http://www.firsttracksonline.com/discus2/messages/2508/2399.html?1053700440
