My take on Saturday is a bit different from Anthony's.....
Had until about 2:00 to get some turns in Saturday, so I opted to head to MRG. Used my Mad Card, so lift ticket was only $33.
Parked at the "upper lot", so first run was down the Practice Slope. Groomed to perfection and fast! The racing program used it most of the day for training.
Headed up the double for some warm up runs on some of the easier terrain. All greens and blues were groomed-fast, & great cover.
After warming up, I decided to tackle some of the more difficult terrain. Up the double again and down the Canyons. This was the run of the day. Good cover, somewhat soft bumps. A little crust and a little ice here and there, but overall in excellent condition. Also off the double, Slalom Hill had good, soft bumps, but getting there was a bit of a challenge-some ice, stumps, etc.
Next up the single. Took Antelope down for a "warm down" run. Yet more of the same...groomed, great cover.
Next run off the single down Fall Line. This is where it's evident that another foot of snow will do wonders. Bumps were fairly big, but no consistancy. A couple soft ones, then icy, then rocks, stumps etc. I had fun though-it's a great run. Only one ding on my bases, so not bad. After that run, decided I'd rather wait until more snow before checking out the woods.
Anyway, awesome day at MRG. Some more snow would be great, but I was definately pleasantly surprised and pleased with the conditions.
