It was Winter of 2003 all over again. Temps were minus 25F with a breeeeze when The Single hauled
us uphill. For Trail Check, I drew Fall Line.
It was a bit chunky and coulda' been reasonable
if it weren't for the extreme cold. The cold
made the snow very grabby and hence turning just
wasn't as quick as it shoulda' been.

Schussing from Midstation down Broadway
turned into a dead stop before Creamery due to
the cold sticky snow and the headwind. Upper
Canyon had some interesting sastrugi snow as well
as some hardpack. Many spots had some good soft
snow, though. Upper Chipmink and much low angled
ungroomed areas had good skiing. Duck was an
unexpected gem during my Birdland stint. Cat
Bowl had some surprisingly good skiing as well as
solitude ..... well, just about everything had
solitude actually.

With the extreme cold, it was a good day
for required first aid practice. With the extreme
cold, it was also a quiet day.
For sweep, I got Fall Line which was
difficult. But that was more than made up for
with the spectacular view of the alpenglow
hovering the Camel's Hump and Worcester Range.

I attended a Board Meeting after skiing.
I was going to check out the Patriots game after
that, but a half hour nap turned into hour and a
half which turned into 3 hours and then zzzzzz ....
