Nuthin? too much to report regarding Saturday. Cat Bowl has been skiing well for me this year and Paradise below the Grandfather?s entrance were very nice. I was sent on a bit of an assignment down LA and I found nice skiing there as well as solitude. I started to sample a choice tree shot I have worked on, but got spooked by an unfilled trench running down it, so I herringboned out and sampled the next one down and found nice skiing, but still a bit lean on snow ?..just a bit lean, mind you.

On Saturday night, a fellow Patroller had an open house party at her place and of course we all gathered around the TV glued to the Weather Channel to check out the great storm that was occurring over a few beers.

Well, Sunday morning dawned with 4-6? of new ? a little less than expected, but a powder day, anyway. First run down Panther was nice with the soft bumps, albeit some windblown grabby snow. That was eagerly repeated. Nice skiing was found on Cat Bowl headwall. But, when I got to midstation, The Single was getting cranky, so I stopped in case Patrol support was needed. I was then dispatched to ride The Single to the summit and man the Starks Nest all by my lonely self while adjustments were being made ??for well over an hour, just when the skiing was getting good ? bummer. Winds gusted over the summit which was a good thing as that helped refresh the trails. After The Single was revived, I was off to some nice skiing down Cat Bowl and I was also rewarded by having my Stint assignment at the top of The Double waived !! Variable conditions were experienced as well as a few surprise turns in an untracked shot that went up past my knees a bit. Liftline then yielded very nice untracked and chowder. My ski spirits had been raised and I looked forward to skiing aggressively for the rest of the day!

But, on the way up The Single, I ? being a Goodie 2 Shoes  ? reminded myself that I should put in some time for sled training that was to be conducted. So, I checked in for it, dragged out a sled and The Single went on wind hold which meant I had to stay at top ?which I did for 2 hours. AAAAAaaaargh !!! Hence I started to become the butt end of jokes due to my misfortunes that day. Well, after the end of that stint, I had 15 minutes of free time before I had to do my Birdland stint (there's Cool novice skk\iing there, ya' know 8) )??..oh, and I left my butt pack at The Stark?s Nest  . I blurted out to a fellow Patroller ?Patroller Renson ???? ?.. Inspector Clouseau is more like it, today!? I was stoked to do a lotta? skiing for the day, too, instead of getting snakebitten by misfortune.

Birdland was intensely cold ? it can get like that at the end of the day due to App Gap Effect winds. I enjoyed sweeping it due to the solitude, but man it was getting cold.
For final sweep, I drew Partridge and Slalom Hill in the intensifying cold - the line snear the top of Slalom Hill were skiing kinda' strange.

I was at MRG yesterday.

It was an epic day. The first run was well worth the price of admission (ie. $3.50 for Roll back the clock day). I will try to write something of my crazy Monday-Tuesday ski trips (Mont St.Anne - MRG) and back at my desk in Ottawa today, only to back ski with the Masters at Fortune tonight.
