I was suprised at the heavy traffic on I-89 that was in MY way - dang these yuppie touron Massholes ........oh, wait minute, I'm one of those. The new snow musta' stimulated a lotta' snow starved skiers.

Anyway, trail check down Panther was very nice. Later, we ran sleds. My assignment was to run one loaded all the way down Fall Line/Creamery. So, we loaded Tiger's kid, Alexander, into mine. Running a sled with a light weight presented some unexpected challenges and it was also my first sled run of the year. But, I knocked off the rust and had a good head o' steam down the bumps, ledges, ice floes and powder on Fall Line. I elected to challenge myself real hard by taking that narrow 1.5 ski length wide slot that drops into (almost) top of Creamery, plus I had Bill running the Tail and he's been pusing himself hard in order to become a Trainer/Evaluator, so I was in good hands.&! nbsp; That went very well and down the steeeep Creamery Headwall we went down to Broadway. I ran an empty through Ferret and ran the Tail with Bill in the handles down Upper Glade/Lower Glade with me getting a good drilling on braking - Jep the evaluator is a stickler for that. When all was completed, we got some nice complements and were very satisfied.

At the end of my Double stint, I heard a knock on the window and it was Telenaut, who was nice enough to stop by and invite me for some turns with him, Jumpin' Jimmy and Jumpin' Justin (that's JJ's 5 y/o kid). We introduced Justin to Lori, Danny and Mr Kincade and found some sketchiness, but seemingly nothing to be too concerned with. Little JJ handled tree skiing very well and did it all on telemark gear - WOW! At the bottom, a bunch of us assembled and it looked like some golfing was the order, but a customer got a hold of me and the radio crackled. Things were ! happenin' and Tiger had me head up The Double. Well, things got taken care of and I wound up stinting and closing Birdland. We had to give someone a taxi ride to the bottom and a few flags were raised when we reached the bottom which presented some peculiar challenges and situations (sorry, can't say more - patient respect, ya' know). I felt great that a received a number of complements during the day - my biorythms musta' been really up there.

That night, we went to a party for Ken Quackenbush, a former MRG GM. I got a ride down and was fortunate to get a ride back uphill - good thing I have made some true friends at Mad River.

Today, good skiing was had as long as ya' avoided some nasty spots and stayed on the good packed powder. I had to place a lotta' boo', though. Upper Glade and Lower Glade actually had very good skiing as did Panther. I gotta' few criticisms - biorythm! s musta' went South. Turns during Birldand were nice and at the end of the day, it was snowing hard at the top - the storminess felt real nice during Sweep.

During the weekend, Penny asked me if after 7 days of skiing deeeeep powder I was glad to be back in Vermont .......you betcha' I was.
