I was assigned Paradise for Trail Check. It was kinda? tricky with crusty bumps, windblown, slick spots, etc. I finally felt confident about the coverage in the woods, so I checked out some goods and to be honest, it was kinda? punchy in spots. Nothing too much else to report about the day or I?m just too exhausted right now to remember. We had a bit of a party planned at The Starks Nest for après ski, but I wanted to participate in sweep which I did down Quacky.
After sweep, I skinned up to the summit in the twilight. It was very pleasant on Upper Antelope, especially by the LT on the ridge. At the Starks Nest, Jen Greenwood handed me a strong margarita. Cool World ? nice skin up to a warm cozy shelter and I get a tasty drink handed to me by a smiling petunia that looks a little like Lori Partridge.
Four of us closed the place down at about 10:00PM and we had a fun ski down past Midstation with our headlamps on. Rocky Bleier gave us some amusement by biffing on a bump on Chute ? I guess Franco Harris musta? missed a block. I then had one of my nicest runs ever down Porcupine and it?s always fun to get a good head of steam in the dark through the dip by the waterfall past Chip? Bowl
