Another MRG trail report -- was there this weekend as well.
Saturday got up early enough to be in line when they opened the lift. Began the day on chute/glade which were both quite good. Skiied a few other on-piste runs that day and was generally impressed with conditions (though I haven't been there in a while -- I'm sure they're worse than they were earlier in the week). Pretty perfect packed powder everywhere, with the occasional rock or icy spot but not enough to affect your line very much. Lynx/Beaver was particularly nice, while Lower Antelope was the worst of the lot -- surprisingly bony given how nice the rest of it was. Glade, Cat Bowl (except a brief section in the headwall), Chute, Fall Line, Liftline were all quite good despite the odd rock or icy spot. Canyon was nice as well, but the bumps are a bit too far apart there for some reason which is fine but feels a little weird.
Spent most of Saturday on the woods though -- and these are in great shape. Not much powder left (no surprise) but plenty of chopped-up loose snow and lots of packed powder. Cover is quite good -- most everything that should be covered is, and barely any icy or rocky spots (much better than on-piste in fact, due to the lower traffic). Took 3 runs in 20th which was very nice -- lots of slightly chopped loose snow here even if you didn't really know where to look (that's me), though I wouldn't call it powder. And good packed powder without many bones down most of the main lines.
Sunday was another great day. Stayed mostly on-piste because I needed to work through some bad habits. Everything was pretty good again, though starting to get just slightly bony in a few spots by the end of the day. Best run was Chute->Beaver, but no complaints anywhere else either.
