Got up to Mad River Glen on Friday morning for 3 days of great skiing. Conditions were pretty fantastic. Started out friday with some runs on chute, liftline, fall line, and glade. The snow was very nice light chopped-up powder and packed powder. Bumps were beautiful and even, particularly on chute. A few rocks and ice patches here and there, but overall fantastic conditions. Spent most of the rest of the day in the woods, which were splendid. Beautiful snow everywhere. It snowed more or less the whole day, with a little sleet in the afternoon that created a barely noticeable crust in places by late afternoon.

Saturday morning returned to the mountain after an inch or two fell overnight. The conditions were again fantastic. Liftlines were unfortunately brutal: almost 40 minutes for the single at the worst of it. But this just encouraged me to take long woods runs in 20th hole, which was definitely the place to be. In the morning, there was beautiful untracked boot-top powder everywhere, even in some of the more open lines. Not the lightest stuff I've ever skied, but definitely nothing to complain about!

Sunday was quite a bit colder than Saturday (just above 0 at the summit and a bit windy). But this kept liftlines short so I was glad of it. Skiing was still great. 20th hole still had plenty of untracked, although you had to look a bit harder and ski denser lines than on Saturday. Again spent most of the days in the woods, particularly enjoying some nice lines down lower-mountain streambeds.
