Sunday morning, I headed up to The Holy Land and arrived when light snow was falling.
Lynx-Beaver had outstanding bump skiing on trail check that was so good that I did it
again for dessert. I went to go say hello to Keith, Lori, Danny and Mr Kincade by taking
the lower whose entrance and found some crust that was reasonable and rapidly getting
buried by the new wet snow. Great skiing was found on Fall Line and upper Canyon, too.
At around noon, the snowfall at the base area was getting dangerously close to rain -
snow level seemingly rose to 1599 feet (Basebox is at 1600 feet).
Power went out which shut down The Double for the day and we were on standby at the
Starks Nest which gave me a chance to dry some stuff and do AED practice. I took a run
down Fall Line afterwards and found some great solitude.
Sweep was great down Liftline. I often overlook that trail, unfortunately. The bumps
were soft and fantastic and the roller coaster ride was sweet down the new soft snow.
I figured that we would get some new snow overnight and that the forecasted chilly temps
for the next day would be tolerable, especially compared to the deep freeze experienced
during President's Day weekend ......
