Sorry for the late report, I have been catching up after a few days out of town and two days off.
I left Bromont to drive down to MRG on Tuesday for Roll Back the Clock day. We drove off in the snow and passing by Sutton, Jay, Stowe, Sugarbush to finally ended our journey in the Mad parking lot at 9am.
What a day. Last Tuesday was a real treat, at least 6 inches of fresh snow, more in some parts.
We even got some knee high powder on our first run on Porcupine, that alone was worth the price of admission. The wind was blowing the snow and there was definitely more than 6in in some spots.
Fall Line was good, however the frozen hard moguls underneath the fresh powder kept you centered or on your toes.
Lower Antelope (Anthony was asking elsewhere) was great, fresh snow and no huge frozen moguls hidden in the snow.
Cat Bowl, Gazelle were great. However getting to Gazelle from the top of the double was a bit challenging conditions wise. Coverage was poor prior to reaching Gazelle or Slalom Hill.
Paradise has seen better days, not easy turning in the air when noticing rocks at the last second. This was in the afternoon, might have been better in the morning.
Woods were definitely in way better shape, however they had to be skied with cautions. This was especially notice when we skied over a creek.
As Mark previously mentioned a few times, Birdland was great fun. Most of it had been groomed and had some fresh snow on them. 8)
