This report will be lacking because I was too lazy to take many pics, sorry.

My non skiing wife and I spent the weekend with good friends at their house in Ludlow, VT. They have a new home on 10 acres staring at Okemo.
My plan was to leave at 5:30 am on Saturday and stop at Bromley for some easy cruising but just as we were about to pull in, I called an audible. I’d never been to Magic so I arrived at 8:50 and parked in the closest lot to the lodge. Great start to the day.

I booted up in the nice quiet lodge and my wife found a good spot to watch her iPad. I rode the black lift first. It was warm and the snow a bit grabby. I just skied the blues. So much fun. It was great skiing trails with character. I basically lapped the red chair till noon. Everyone I met was super nice. What a warm welcoming place.

Now on to Okemo. What are the difference a day makes. The cold front came through and firmed up the mountain. The only reason I skied there is because my friend has a midweek Epic pass. I have a lot of days at Okemo over the years and it is what it is: wide boulevard soulless skiing.

That said, conditions were quite good. There were a few slopes that were like polished marble, but for the most part, the groomed trails were in nice shape and with my friend's discount it only cost me a little bit more than $100, which is a deal on weekends these days.

Sorry, no pix other than this one from my friend's kitchen window: turkeys with Okemo in the background.
