Talisman

Magic hadn't received much natural snow in the two weeks since my last visit. Apparantly the mountain management has taken to grooming more trails and I was shocked to see that Broomstick, Talisman and Sorcerer had been groomed virtually wall to wall. Why, Sorcerer had a coating of faux snow blown on it.

Conditions were good and the snow pack is holding up on the steeper trails. My favorite was the Witch to Lucifer combination. The trails could use a shot of new snow to recharge conditions as some parts of Redline, Master Magician and Goniff Glades had more rock than usual exposed.

Life is a compromise so on I Sunday I met others over at Bromley. For future reference Superbowl Sunday Bromley hosts thousands of Boy Scouts. The place was as crowded which was a surprise because Superbowl Sunday skiing is usually uncrowded.

Bromley had great snow that held up to the hordes of Scouts side slipping moguls on rental gear. The Blue Ribbon quad was ski on, but there was a decent line at the High Speed Quad most of the day.

Hopefully Urrl will hear our pleas for another shot of fresh snow.

Magic is in great shape for not having any big snows for awhile. Yes I noticed they're going nuts with the cats this year. Right now it seems they're trying to spread the snow around we got from the new year. The tree skiing is constanly refreshed from the wind and little storms we've been getting. I like to descibe it as creamy. Another foot of fresh would be enough to erase all the trax in there.

Funny how spoiled we are this year with early dumps and recharging storms. No appreciable fresh snow in a couple of weeks and I'm hungry for more. Last season the current conditions would have been heaven.
