Went to Mad River on Monday. Place was empty. Nice weather. It was actually surprisingly good on the whole, despite the title of this post. To be sure, trails were all full of rocky and icy patches:
There was still enjoyable skiing on-piste though, as in most spots it was reasonably edgeable.
Woods were surprisingly good. There are the occasional icy patches and rocky/stumpy spots in there, particularly lower-mountain, but on the whole it's definitely great skiing, particularly on the upper and mid mountain. I had several great runs just bombing down through the woods at some speed on slightly firm but generally good snow. I don't any shots of the best spots, but here are a few from somewhere lower down:
