Decided to head down to the Snow Bowl to get an afternoon of skiing in with hopes of finding good snow and no crowds. We found both! Pulled into the parking lot around 12:15. There were maybe 100 cars there. Suited up and head up the Worth Mountain Chair. Headed over to the triple via Meredith. Great snow. 3-4 inches of fresh, light powder on top of packed powder. Took a few runs on Youngsman which was much more of the same-in fact, there were still spots where you could grab a few fresh tracks. The "steep" part of Youngsman was beginning to bump up nicely. Good place to practice!
After Youngsman, we headed over to Proctor, then Ross, and then decided to tackle Allen. Upper Allen was actually pretty good-a little icy, but very edgeable (Allen is pretty exposed to the elements and can get pretty icy). Finshed the day off on the Sheehan Chair, taking runs down Hadley, Cameron, and Lang.
Overall, a great day with great conditions and no crowds. The 3-4 inches of new snow was a great help-the natural snow trails had few if any rocks/grass exposed. Crowds, as mentioned before were non-existant. Maybe every 5th chair had a person on it. Will definatly head out to the Snow Bowl again this season.
