Mont Saint-Bruno - QC - November 10, 2003

Can you believe I have lived 20 years beside a ski area which I had never skied?

So tonight for my second day of the season, I decided to solve this anomaly and go to Mont Saint-Bruno. It turned out to be only a 14 minutes drive from my home!

Conditions were a lot better at St-Bruno than they were at St-Sauveur yesterday. The area invested in new snowmaking machines this year (Lenko fan-guns on towers), and it definetly paid off. With the exception of the very bottom of the hill which had more spring-like conditions, the remainder had snow that compared to what you would find 2 days after a small January storm: light snow on a smooth base.

As for the terrain itself, only a blue run was open, right under the central quad, which was operating. The run was more like a boulevard with very few terrain features, just like all other runs seem to be. The relatively small crowd and the width of the run (up to 40 feet wide) ensured enough elbow room. The run was about 350 feet high, out of a possible 400 for the ski area.

Though it felt more like skiing in the Midwest than in Quebec, it was definetly worth it: it's right next door!

Definitively, Patrick and you seem to cross their road with a day late...

Patrick skied MSB yesterday and MSS today
You skied MSS yesterday and MSB today !

Let's go Max... 114 remaining for 1000 !!

Yeah, good precision effectively !!

Here is the trail map showing what was open : we see the part under the chairlift, but the part not under is longer than how it's shown on the trail map, if my memory is correct.
