Reports of 10" - 12" were on target, even though the storm started as rain on the mountain. Both the North Peak and Summit chairs were on wind hold all day.
However, around 11:00 the Sun Bowl chair opened, even though the only way to get to it is from the Summit or North Peak. Access to the Sun Bowl was provided via a snowcat pulled shuttle that they ran from the top of the terrain park, over a road that is unplowed in the winter. Pretty ingenious. The shuttle could only take 25 at a time, but you could walk to the base of the Sun Bowl chair in 10 minutes.
Conditions in Sun Bowl were excellent. However, the only way out was to ski down the front face where all the lifts were closed. The main face of Sunapee, which faces north, was hammered by strong winds all day and was very wind-blown by day's end. I imagine most other areas in the northeast suffered a similiar fate.
