June Day 4 and 5. (stole that one from admin)

Two day sojurn on Mount Washington.

Day 1, hike up to hermit lake, cache most of the gear, and ski chute 3 or 4 times. Then back to hermit lake for some water, and up lions head for an afternoon jaunt and some good evening lighting. Was hanging with the caretaker later in the night and he said he'd broken through in left gully the day before and found a lot of undermining. Not suprised after our visit to the ravine. Chute wasnt bad, we did find some holes we pledged to say away from. Right gully was the longest continuous patch, also the most underminded. If you want snow right now head to the snow fields. Apparently they are lasting longer because of the October snow pack, tux melted out after the big snows but the snowfields did not, giving them a much larger base.

Day 2 featured another hike up lions head w/ monsterous packs. A beast of a hike. Summited, had lunch with friends at the obs, then went and shot off 4 runs in the snow fields, and hiked down to 4 mile where someone finally picked up 2 really smelly skiers.

Beautiful pictures Salida,

I really love picture number 8 view from Lion's Head.

The weather forecast at Mount Washington in June has made it difficult to actually get some turns dry. :(

I was hoping for the first weekend of June, but, of course, it rained all weekend.

You're having a pretty hardcore June. Chic, Kmart and the rockpile.

Did you ever make it to Baffin Island last year?

Yep, pictures can be seen here. http://ecampus.bentley.edu/org/skiclub/websummer/

However, it was a climbing trip, not a ski trip... really to bad!

A-W-E-S-O-M-E-!-!-! :P

Thanks for sharing those pics.

Definitely a good mix from Baffin to Kathadin via Colorado. I love those Nunavut pictures. I have a friend that did I similar trip, but I never say his pics.

Definitely there's a few good places to make some turns.

Thanks for the kudos Patrick. To bad you couldn't get up to Mount Wash for some turns. I should be back either Friday or Monday. Have to decide which (and if there is snow left, which I bet there will be).

As for last summers pictures, it surely was a fun trip (not everyone gets to walk across the Arctic Circle)! Those are some huge mountains up there and they basically rise from sealevel, which is even more austounding. Hopefully, I'll be able to one up last years arctic excursion with a trip to Chile in August!!!!

WOUHOUU! Nunavut... here's another destination to put on my "have to do before I end up in a wheelchair" list. Salida, you followed my tracks (one week apart) in the the Chic-Chocs but I don't plan Nunavut this summer. Nice pics.

Thanks Luke...

Out of all the places I have visited, the mountains on Baffin Island were some of the most stunning I have seen. The cliffs of these mountains basically jutted out of the ocean to 5 or 6 thousand feet. I could not believe the sheer vertical that they had. Not to mention that vast amount of glacier skiing. However, the place is riddled with crevasses... I can only imagine what is like in the winter!
