FINALLY !!!!!!!
After 16 days without skiing, while there have been 3 storms of over 2 feet in Quebec, I've done some skiing this evening at St-Sauveur !

After 6 days this season, I have 5 at MSS... not really normal for me. At least, as I'd only taken 3 trails on the mountain (Red Bird, West 70 and Nordic), I didn't skied them this evening (except twice for the Nordic cause it was excellent !) (2 runs full pin all the way long including the desert pitch, as the triple wasn't open... hmmm)

Good surprise for me : when I arrived, I saw that they had opened the 71's side, today... with the Hill 71 and "La Plagne". So it was a great thing for me and with 3 HSQ running, I was sure to never wait too much. Even with that, I must say that the central quad had a big crowd, in the mid-evening. Surely something like 5+ minutes waiting.

Here is the pitch of the 71

And I took advantage of the opening of this side to ski the most beautiful glade of the mountain. They just got 6" of snow in the storm and there was only a little bit on the ground, but it was "skiable" (you know me), but I wouldn't have recommended it to anyone else, especially in the early evening, cause it was some blind wood skiing (nice !) When the clouds arrived (with Sleeeeeet arrrghhhh around 8h, but serious sleet just at 9h), all the places without lights had an incredible visibility. I even took this pic in the "Coureur des Bois"... the nice glade :

I must say that it needs a lot of light to let us see something while night skiing !

I took a great number of closed trails, including the Grand-Élan which was really fantastic today... simply amazing, T2B. (ok, don't laugh, I know that you got 30" of snow, but for me, it was better than some ice like my 5 first ski days)

The best open trail of the day was the Tom Barbeau : an advanced-intermediate, which had some great snow. It was nice to go fast into that and it was feeling a little bit like some moguls ;) hmmm (I also took my 1st moguls of the year, but they were icy. I also jumped my first cliff of the year : 6' high... woohoo, finally !)

Tom Barbeau :

Finally, it was a nice evening, especially before the sleet and I really hope that we will all have snow instead of rain, to continue to have some great conditions !! (with no crowds like on this superquad, the fastest of the province, super comfortable... and it was almost empty even though it reached the best terrain today ! wow !!

(last thing... it's sooooo nice to see all the people duck the ropes on their runs and to see that all was tracked except the "Coureur des bois", when I arrived... the real skiing is coming back in the spirits ;)
