Skied the Sherburne Trail and Gulf of Slides ski trail on Sunday. First time out for me this season.

It was nice to have a weekend day above zero for the first time in a couple weeks. The sun was shining, in the teens, almost no wind, with 2" of new fluff covering the old surfaces.

The Sherburne Trail has very thin cover, but it's not as icy as this time last year. Pretty good conditions, considering the lack o' snow!

Gulf of Slides ski trail was 'survival' skiing: a thousand vertical feet of jump turns in breakable crust, threading a line between thinly-covered rocks and lots of brush. It's just not ready yet. We need another foot of snow there, since it's "ungroomed" compared to the Sherburne.

thanks for the report! i keep looking longingly at my touring skis but figured nothing was really worth the effort at this point away from the vertical assistance mountains. first time out this season? you have some catching up to do! :D
