Typical day on the rock pile. The summit was socked in early with rime frost above 4000ft and an inch of new snow. The auto road didn't open to the public, so we opted to drive around the mountain and hike up the Jewel trail. The weather being overcast, we didn't have expectations for great skiing, if at all. By the time we got above tree line the visibility had cleared all the way to the summit. Here's a view looking down the gully:

The snow was perfect corn - not too hard, not too soft. Here's some shots of the gang coming down on the first run:

Everyone heading back up from the bottom. It was sooo sweet , we went almost to Spalding Lake!

We also came across 4 other folks who skiied Pipeline top to bottom and were hiking up Airplane Gully. They said Pipeline was very skiable, if you don't mind skiing over an ice flow.

Finally, here's a shot coming up the gully, a few hundred feet below the summit.

There was grand total of 8 skiers in the gullys today. The base should hold up for 3-4 more weeks. Lftgly- can't blame you for not coming up with us, see ya next weekend?
