My Utah photos and videos

Great shots and vids! Thanks for sharing. A set of pictures like this goes a long way toward explaing why some of us packed up and moved to UT :D

No need to uproot now. It's why I (and so many others) go there on vacation. While I was out there, there were 10 people visiting from the east that I knew before going there (I met a whole bunch more while I was out there). I'll be seeing many of them at Greek Peak in the coming weeks and will likely take trips to VT and Adks with some of them as well.

In the meantime, I'll just keep earning my pension and in 10 years I should be able to winter there. I'd like to summer in Hood River (can ski, windsurf, kayak, bike and really just do it all out there). Though I doubt I'll ever give up my home here in the hills of CNY. I have built too much here and can't leave my home permanently.

In the meantime, I take vacations to the PNW in the summer and to Utah in the winter. It works for me. I think 10 days is plenty of time (that's what I'm planning for next year). It's long enough to get in a full storm cycle (usually) and long enough to miss home. When I get home, I am happy to be there and take on all that CNY has to offer, even if it is a February thaw.

Life is good.

Sharon -

I just saw your pictures and report! It looks like you had a great time and really caught some excellent turns. I had a great time skiing with you, Bobby Dangerous, Marc, Mira, Amy, Dave at Snowbird on Feb 1. Too bad we all could not be out there this past week....it sounds like they are getting some of the best skiing of the season so far! Sure beats the rain and 45F we are getting today in the east.

Attached is a picture from Feb 1...

Colin,

It was great to meet you and ski with you as well.

I plan to be in VT later this season, and I have friends who live near and ski at MRG and hope to be visiting with them once it starts snowing again. I'll let you know when I will be heading that way. Would be nice to ski with you again.

Utah was just a dream, so it seems. Even after skiing 12 days, it seemed like it flew by in a flash. Now I sit here in CNY wondering when I'll bring myself to ride the lifts at Greek Peak again.

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7616#p41808[/url] Sharon":2n81cf9r]Doesn't sound like things are so great back east. I do miss my home and people, so I am actually looking forward to going back. Living in this urban environment with all the smog is really getting to me. If it wasn't for the great skiing, I would not want to live here. The mountains are beautiful, the skiing excellent, but SLC is a crappy place in and of itself.

I can't agree more...especially with the weather we are now facing. Hard to sit here and know MRG is closed today because of the rain over the past two days...and no snow in the forecast. Utah was just a dream...and the dream continues today, NWS is predicting another foot in the Wasatch tonight and tomorrow.

Can we go back NOW!?!?!

Let me know when you are in VT...but please do wait until we get some crystal snow instead of the pre-snow liquid type we've had.

From my recent trip...can you tell I had a GREAT time!?
