Patrick, need some 4S's?

Thanks...

:-k I have one pair of 4S in my basement plus 1 pair of 7G and 2 pairs of 7S without mentioning the Fishers, Atomics, other Rossis and Fels skis, poles, ski boots + a single chair in the garage.

:brick:
My wife would kill me if I got any more non-used gear in our house.

Up until March I had a pair of old: Volkl P9 RS, Kastle World Cup SL (w MRR bindings), Kastle SGM 215cm, Atomic (Red Sleds) 203 cm, Dynstar Course SL (with the red marshmallow on the tip), and the "creme de la creme" Kneissel Red Stars with reverse camber. We brought in a dumpster to get rid of some wire old cattle fencing on our horse farm and my wife said that I had to give up hope that long fence slats would come back into ski fashion. I did get to keep the red, white and blue Bognar one piece.... :-({|=

Another currently 'lost area'. Does anyone really see them spending the huge $ to reopen an area that has not been financially feasible for the last two decades? And probably very decrepit/falling apart from 10 years of non-operation.

Big AL from Greekus Peakus used to own it in the 80's for a while (well, not him personally, but you get the idea) and sucked large sums of money out of GP to shore up Scotch Valley ne Deer Run ne Scotch Valley. Not to mention moving groomers, snowmaking equip, etc.. down there during the season to help that place out.

Speaking of which, how many on these boards have actually skied it's 'awesome' 750' verts? Or for that matter bowled in the base lodge (Yep a bowling center in the base lodge -of all things to put in a base lodge- it is the catskills after all).

I didn't begin downhill skiing until after Scotch Valley had closed, so I have no first-hand experience with it... but people who used to ski there back in the day speak affectionately about it, like a beloved dog who died years ago.

There's even a Save Scotch Valley website:
www.savescotchvalley.com/

Oorah has a contract to purchase Scotch Valley. The good news is that they are not opposed to having someone operate Scotch Valley in the winter! This is excellent news if they live up to their statement!

My personal opposition to Oorah was based on the their past history in Gilboa and what I found out about them through research on the Internet. If they are willing to work with the community and are not looking to taking away the possibility of Scotch Valley being a ski area then I welcome them to the community!

Now it is important that we make sure that Oorah lives up to that promise. We need to find what they call and "experienced operator". I am not sure what that means in terms of their requirements. Hopefully we will find out soon.

Oorah currently has a contract to buy Scotch Valley but they will not buy it if they find that the property is on the NYC watershed.

From the beginning of this web site -- before I even knew that Oorah was interesting in buying Scotch Valley -- my hope was that Scotch Valley is operating as a ski resort again -- it does not matter who owns it.
