What is the closest mtn to Durham and Hanover? How far away are the two towns? Anyone?

I don't know Durham off the top of my head, but Hanover of course is home to Dartmouth College, and the Dartmouth Skiway is just up the road in Lyme.

Mt Sunapee is 1/2 hr from Hanover... Ascutney is about 40min or so. KIllington maybe a hour..

closest to Durham would likely be either gunstock or shawnee i would guess?

The closest to Durham is definitely Gunstock, and it's about a 40-45 minute drive from the UNH campus.

The two towns are about 100 miles apart. There are lots of areas close to Hanover, Storrs hill is the next town over, Dartmouth Ski Way is about 10, Sunapee and Ascutney are about a half hour. A ton, mostly in VT, are within an hour.

Durham is on the coast. The nearest is Gunstock at 44 miles, Ragged is around 60, Cranmore is 78 miles, Shawnee is around 85.

Hanover is closer to more areas, and has bigger areas close by. Hanover is 12 miles closer to Saddleback (188 miles vs. 200 for Durham), although I'd have to believe you could drive it faster from Durham.

I think most would agree, Hanover is a better choice for skiing.
