Is there any challenging skiing that anyone can recommend in the Niagara region (not Ellicotville)?

Holiday Valley is the only one I know. Except Holimont which is right next door and can be skiied by meer mortals on weekdays (its a private area). Never been there but I'm trying it Friday. Looks about the same as Holiday Valley. Good snow up there right now.

Agree with Frontrange: Holiday Valley has the most vertical in the area, which is about 800 feet vertical - that's about as good as it gets.

If you're willing to mosey east one hour to the south of Rochester, there is Bristol Mt. which I believe has some 1000 feet of vertical. From what I recall (23 years ago) there was a very good "fishbowl" trail under the lift that was all moguls.

When I used to live there I always was saddened by the fact that in the east, that area east of Lake Erie always had way too much snow and way too little vertical to do anything with.

Maybe we could get Donald Trump to truck in a mountain of soil. That would make for a helluva resort....
