day.8... o.k. looked at their website this morning nothing about uphill traffic not allowed . simmered on the question of why alta had posted no snowbird axcess , they (snowbird) didn't want people coming over the shoulder being directly deposited onto eddies snow field high on the baldy shoulder . remember a few years in the past , a few people were carried down to baldy flats in a slide that originated there , and if i remember correctly one was killed . that's bad advertising even in the early season that's not the kind of news any ski area wants out there ! alta is pretty much been skied up from high rustler to the west border with snowbird (yes the wildcat trees - just a few lines of short pitches remain ) . snowbird has seen minor traffic as compaired to next door .

the snow was more wind affected in snowbird up high !!

i said it in yesterdays post all we need is it to snow more there's a tidy base up there .
