Nov 12th ---> Le Massif, Qc

It was raining in Montreal on saturday when Art told me it was snowing east of Quebec city... Sunday morning, 3 nut jobs woke up at 6AM for a 3hour drive to Le Massif:

_Arthur
_David
_Eric

All the way there it was raining... 10 minutes before getting there there was almost no snow on the ground! We wondered if all that driving was a smart thing! We got to the parking lot and it was white! All white!

We climbed a lot that day: 3300ft of vertical gain (climbed = red // downhill = blue)

The snow was sticky on Art's board:

Dave was on fire:

And me:

...with poles on a short downhill...

and in the snow...

Of course we checked the snowpack before heading out:

...and we looked at the crystals:

So we built a "huge" kicker for Art:

...and we made a movie to show what we've done:

In all, it was a great day even tough the snow wasn't as good as last weekend in Jay or 2 weeks before at Sutton... But we had fun!

Now pray for snow!

Kudos to you, BigJay!

I'm curious -- Scott's thinking that all of New England will be starting from scratch after this week's weather. Do you think this thin cover will last at Le Massif, or do you believe that'll be brown later this week, too?

There's about 10-12in of hard stuff on top of the mountain. Mid-mountain when we stopped there was about 6-8in... my guess is even that the bottom was all green... After all, it's right next to the St-Laurent river!

The top still might be white... but not much skiing and riding to be had! At least the parking is on top of the mountain!

Thanks Big Jay, I'm happy you guys were able to make some tracks. :P

Great to see snow in 2nd week November.

How pathetic is that statement as everyone is still waiting for Winter to arrive?

The season are getting shorter, I'm sorry to say...

No more skiing in June.
Extremely rare skiing in October.
Almost no more skiing in May.

Next on the endangered list...November.

Is it just me? I cannot see the clip.

Thanks Big Jay. Great, just saw it. Nice to see ESB adding up the days (JLDD and yourself also).

Environment Canada is calling for rain and overnight low in the 40s and 50F for the end of the week at sea level. Not to promising.
