Sunny skies, temps at 7:30AM were in the teens at the trailhead. Snow conditions were variable, softening up quite nicely at lower elevations in the sun, still dry powder to be found in the shade, and chalky windpack at higher elevations with this pockets of powder. Winds were light. Coverage was good top to bottom.

sick! what a weekend for earning turns! i should have my substitute ski for my touring rig mounted up by this weekend. don't think i have the hiking stamina to do oakes gulf, but looking forward to earning some else where!

Aah, you were with Jonathan and Jim on Saturday. I was going to ask if you crossed their path, then noticed who's skiing in the pictures and answered my own question. Did you accompany them on their marathon 5,000 vertical foot-plus descent on Sunday?

I tried to ski with Jim and his brother John on Feb. 26th while they were visiting here, but I was sick as a dog with the flu and gave up after only a couple of runs. John was back here on 3/5 and is the "John C" referenced in this post from a day at Snowbird.
