Oakes Gulf & Monroe Brook - 04/16/05

A rainy weekend is a good time to look at photos from last weekend's adventures. We met many old and new friends on the mountain Saturday and Sunday. It may have been our last chance to ski-in and ski-out from the car via Monroe Brook, as there were already several open water holes. Next weekend may be the start of long hikes down from the mountain, as the snowcover in the lower elevations of the brook may wash out, as well as the Sherburne and Gulf Of Slides ski trails.

Anyone know the name of this gully in Oakes? I've heard it called 'central gully' and 'halfpipe gully'...
